Public Information Specialist, Part-time, Central Services (req442)

Job Description

This position has the chief responsibility for monitoring and measuring results of Public Information Office, including: maintaining database to track media response to PR campaigns and press releases (monitoring clips and media coverage), and establishing and maintaining electronic and hard-copy library of newspaper clippings; makes these files available to others within the college, as requested

Minimum Qualifications

Education or Training: Required: associate degree; Preferred: bachelor’s degree (preferably in journalism or public relations or related field, or business)

Experience in the field: minimum one year of public relations, marketing, journalism, or administrative/personal assistant experience, or equivalent education and years of experience or experience in lieu of degree.

Special Skills or abilities directly applicable to the position: intermedia to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office products, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat; writing and editing skills; photography skills; passion for accuracy; demonstrated tact and discretion; news sense; ability to work on deadline; ability to work independently and as a team member; willingness and ability to learn new technical and practical skills, including computer software, to achieve advanced level of proficiency

Bilingual Spanish/English or conversational Spanish language skills are preferred.
